06 Nov Nimbla visit Accounting Live 17 | SEC, Glasgow
It was a pleasure to make our way down to the beautiful city of Glasgow, Scotland, for the Accounting Live 2017 event. The conference and exhibition was aimed at accountants and finance professionals looking to keep on top of their game. With HMRC looking to make tax digital (MTD) , there was a lot to talk about indeed. If you are in need for some tips, talk to one of the experts at Sage for making tax digital for small business.
There was a fantastic talk from Alan Laing of Sage on ‘The State of Small Business: Putting UK Entrepreneurs on the Map’ – which of course, biasedly we were very impressed by. #Helpingsmallbusiness and all that! keeping in line with Scotlands government led programme , “A Nation with Ambition”, Alan addressed the entrepreneurs of Glasgow and beyond, in a very motivational speech that left every business owner or dreamer with a fire in their heart.
We also managed to listen to Steve Pipe, founder of Accountants changing the world. An initiative for proactive accountants who want to make a positive difference to the economy, environment & society as whole. Steve is a chartered Accountant, and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading strategic advisers to the accountancy profession. His idea’s on giving back to the community really inspired many an accountant at the event.
Last but not least, we managed to listed to Association of International Accountants , Tim Pinkney talk on money laundering. The talk gave us three harrowing real life case studies on examples of money laundering where the accountant was unaware but left affected.
